April 18: The Los Angeles-Pacific Railway lays new rails from Sawtelle to the Soldiers’ home. The new line is ready for use in 13 days and runs along San Vicente road through the Westgate tract; eventually it is extend to Santa Monica Cañon. The horse-car line from Santa Monica to the Soldiers’ Home is scheduled for conversion to an electric line although work will begin until one or two bridges necessary for the project are strengthened.
