October 4: Two Union Officials, James C. Meeks, business representative of Painters’ District Council No. 36 and Earl A. Pickens, president of Painters’ District Council No. 36, are cited at the intersection of Beverly Glen and Wilshire Boulevards while standing in front of a construction zone “where a controversy exists because of the asserted employment of non-union painters.” As ordained by law, Pickets must be at least twenty-five feet apart. Both men deny the violation.
